Fantasy Matches: If I Could Put Mia Yim in a Time Machine . . .

Toshiyo Yamada v Megumi Kudo

Mia Yim has been a student of martial arts and a student of Joshi Puroresu "Strong Style."  For that reason she would stack up very well against the stiff strikers of the Joshi golden age during the early to mid 1990's.  There are several competitors that I would love to see Mia battle.  The first would be Toshiyo Yamada -- a tough, athletic, stiff-striking competitor who had friendships and rivalries with Manami Toyota and Yumiko Hotta among others.  Check out this match between Yamada and Hotta from 1995 (Mia was only 6 yrs old then).  Have you ever seen anything so stiff?  Can you imagine this as a 3-way match with 23-year-old Mia Yim in the mix?  Or Mia having singles contests with both of these wrestlers at their prime?  That's why we would need a time machine.  Hotta, of course, is still wrestling, but she is not nearly as stiff and agile as she was in '95.  To encounter them at their peak, Mia would have to travel back to the All Japan Women ring of 1995 when Yamada was 25 and Hotta was 28.
