Stardom Triple Tag

We are going to miss Yuzuki Aikawa after 4/29
All Photos by Resuner Yokoyama

Stardom's chief draw, Yuzuki Aikawa, who has delivered one of the most successful model-become-wrestler career moves ever made, will call it quits on April 29 after Stardom's big Sumo Hall show.  She is sighting injuries among other things in her rationale for quitting the Stardom ring.  She will be missed.  Female fans admired her; male fans fantasized about her; and in the end she put an awful lot of butts in the Stardom seats over the past two years.  Enjoy these photos from the January 19 Stardom event.

Sasha Banks defeats Alicia Fox at NXT

Alicia courts her fans!

Alicia wraps a choke on Sasha

What a big moment in the young career of Sasha Banks, formerly Mercedes KV! Last night she wrestled the beautiful and dangerous Alicia Fox on NXT and young Sasha pulled out a surprising victory.  Surprising to some, perhaps, but to those of us you have followed Sasha through her time in the New England indies, we were not surprised.  One thing we know about Sasha is that she has incredible agility and athleticism -- very reminiscent, in fact, of the young Alicia Fox when she wrestled in OVW as Victoria Crawford.  I usually have few nice words for WWE and the way it does business, but I do give them credit for seeing the potential in Mercedes KV and investing in her even before other indie promotions like WSU or SHIMMER did.  Much like Miss April in WSU who later became A.J. Lee in WWE, Mercedes KV was a regional wrestler with no national exposure.  I suspect it will not be long before she explodes on the national scene. Go get 'em, Sasha Banks!

HERE'S the MATCH!

Melanie Cruise v Nikki St. John in an I QUIT match

Resistance Pro in Illinois recently held an "I Quit" match between two of its female stars, Melanie Cruise and Nikki St. John.  I'm partial to Nikki's new gear -- kinda sexy don't you think?  I like the eye glasses too!  This TV match originally aired on January 13, 2013.  Forward to the 35:10 mark of this video to see the match!

Shazza McKenzie stepped up to challenge PWWA champion Evie and try to bring the belt back to Australia.  Of course it is mid summer in the Southern hemisphere and so a mid-Janaury event can aptly be called Bash at the Beachie (Jan. 12, 2013).  The No Holds Barred "Break Out Wrestler of the Year," New Zealand's Evie, is a force to be reckoned with and she currently has the Aussies stymied.  http://nhbgirls.com/2012/12/nhb-girls-break-out-wrestler-award-2012/
This was an energetic high-impact match with a number of near falls for Shazza who could almost taste the upset.  In the end Evie retained her title.  It will be interesting to see if Evie remains in control of the belt until April when she comes to the States and to SHIMMER at WrestleCon.

Enjoy these great New Photography photos of the Bash at the Beachie:
