Melina Debuts in WSU and Draws Alexxis Nevaeh

The WWE Hellcat Melina, returned to indy promotions after her release and she had a strong, 10+ minute match against the young WSU darling Alexxis Nevaeh.  The match was better than many anticipated (there was no enthusiasm in the house when Amy Lee made the announcement about Melina's "mystery opponent).  But the two wrestlers won the crowd over as the match developed.  It was a nice reentry for Melina who may have shown a hint of ring rust, but quickly shook it off.

More Alexxis Nevaeh

WSU ran a phenomenal show last Friday, Breaking Barriers 2, and one of the stars of the show was young Alexis Nevaeh -- already in the history books for having the longest match in history against Mercedes Martinez last August 6 at WSU.  This time she kicked off the show as a part of The Boston Shore and successfully defended the tag belts (with partner Amber) against Rain/Jetta the International Home Wrecking Crew.  Here are some of my photos from that opening match.  (later in the show she was appointed by Amy Lee to battle Melina instead of the injured Serena -- but more on that in a future blog entry).

ALEXIS NEVAEH: A Revelation at WSU

WSU has seen something that few other companies outside of New England have seen -- that Alexis Nevaeh, often just called Lexis, rocks the ring both physically and psychologically.  Attitude?  She's got it with an edge! Looks? She is stunning!  On the mic?  She is superb!  This girl has a huge upside.  WSU has recognized this and given her a marquee match up with Mercedes Martinez that became the longest match in women's wrestling history -- 73 minutes!  At last Saturday's show in Deer Park, NY, she was in the opening tag-team match -- a successful title defense.  Then later in the show she drew Commissioner Amy Lee's vote for Melina's mystery opponent.  The match was good -- she did not disappoint.

When will SHIMMER ask Lexis to come to travel to Berwyn?  What about others -- even TNA or WWE?  For my money, I hope she stays in the indies and rises to a level where a CHIKARA would be interested.  But until then, WSU has cornered this lucrative talent!

WAVE Tag Team Match: Luke Matsuki's Photos

Triple Tails are Mio Shirai and Kana

The fantastic ring photographer Luke Matsuki took these shots of a tag team encounter in the WAVE promotion (yesterday).  Here Kana and Mio Shirai, the new formation of Triple Tails (sans Io Shirai), took on Syu Shibutani and Ayumi Kurihara.  Triple Tails is wearing their new Sgt. Pepper's gear -- it's getting rave reviews on both sides of the Pacific Ocean.

WSU: Meet & Greet Photos

The Belle Saints

The Sportorium in Deer Park, NY, opened its doors at 4:00PM for a Meet & Greet autograph and photo session with the stars of Women's Superstars Uncensored.  The building was freezing, but apart from that the girls were available and open and friendly to fans.  Here are some photos from that event.
